Understanding Scope 1 & 2 Emissions
- Scope 1 emissions refer to direct GHG emissions from sources owned or controlled by our company — such as fuel combustion, company vehicles, and onsite industrial processes.
- Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions associated with the generation of purchased electricity, heat, or steam consumed by our operations.
Our emissions calculations follow internationally recognized standards, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, at a worldwide perimeter.
In our latest assessment covering 2024, we recorded the following:
- Scope 1 emissions: 8.673 tons CO₂e, representing a 1.1% reduction compared to the previous year
- Scope 2 emissions: 7.693 metric tons CO₂e, down by 3.7% compared to 2023
Overall, this corresponds to a total reduction of 2,3% in combined Scope 1 & 2 emissions compared to our baseline year 2023.
To reach this goal, we launched several activities, sharing best practices with all employees and starting decarbonization activities in Italy, China, Spain, Romania and Poland. In particular, we implemented energy efficiency upgrades across facilities, and we promote employees’ engagement programs for sustainable operational practices.
Looking ahead, we are committed to accelerating our effort by continuously monitoring our emissions, expanding renewable energy usage to cover our consumption in Italy, China and Romania, reducing fossil fuel dependency through technology adoption and process innovation.
In conclusion, regular updating and transparent reporting of Scope 1&2 emissions are critical to understanding and managing our environmental impact. Our recent progress demonstrates that targeted actions can deliver measurable reductions, contributing to global climate goals and creating long-term value for our stakeholders.
