Ferroli reinforces its commitment to decarbonization with a new reliability and durability test of the Hydrohelix hydrogen wall-hung boiler at the University of Extremadura

Ferroli continues its path towards decarbonization of domestic heating with a new test of Hydrohelix, the first wall-hung boiler that works 100% green hydrogen. The collaboration with University of Extremadura in Spain represents a further step in verifying the reliability and performance of this innovative technology.

An enduring commitment to Sustainability: Ferroli confirms its obligation to the fight against climate change, investing in low-emission housing solutions. The Hydrohelix wall-hung boiler represents an important step towards achieving the ambitious targets set by the European Union for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing renewable energy sources.

To confirm the excellence of Hydrohelix, the field test was run after the installation at the Industrial Engineering School of the University of Extremadura (the installation was carried out by Instalaciones Crono Extremadura), close to the “low-temperature green hydrogen system from renewable energy” which has recently become operational at the school.

This green hydrogen system is one of the 6 lines in the Plan of Action of the “Green Hydrogen and Energy Program” of the Complementary Plans of the Government with the Autonomous Community in which participates The Autonomous Community of Extremadura. This is where field tests’ control and management have been located. The goal of these tests is to evaluate the performance of the Hydrohelix model in real conditions to confirm its reliability, efficiency and safety.

The tests are carried out with the collaboration between the school of Industrial Engineering and the Extremadura Gas Company, belonging to the CL Industrial Group, through the “CL’N’TECH – GRUPO INDUSTRIAL CL” Sponsorship Chair.

The collaboration with the University of Extremadura, an academic institution of recognized distinction and grounded experience in Energy field, is a guarantee of scientific accuracy and technical excellence.

A carbon-free future:

The Hydrohelix wall-hung boiler represents a fundamental step towards a carbon-free future in domestic heating.

Ferroli – Innovation leader for sustainable heating:

With over 50 years of experience in developing domestic heating solutions, Ferroli established as a leader in the sector. The company’s commitment to innovation is reflected in its continuous investment in research and development, with the aim of offering efficient and sustainable products. An emblematic example of this commitment is the Hydrohelix boiler, which represents the latest frontier of Ferroli’s innovation in the fight against climate change.

Additional notes: the test with the University of Extremadura is in addition to that already underway with the CINTECX research institute at the University of Vigo.
